Isnt it great when you keep learning?? I finally got the buzz out of the radio. it was due to installing a section of the electrolytics wrong. One side of the first stage of filtering does not see a physical ground and I had thought that it had to see a ground to work. Well, we all learn!!! I also need to find out, and I think I might know how to fix this problem, but I would like others input, I have found that the speaker itself is slightly distorting at higher hotter volumes, and it is a tad heavy on bass response. I may look at a cap difference, but Im just glad the BUZZZZZ is gone.. Now my friend to whom this radio belongs will be very happy.. It actually works..

Glad you got it solved. This is a typical power supply configuration that allows a negative bias for the audio stages. That's the reason for resistors 18 and 23.

As for tone quality, verify that you have strong negative bias on the 6F6 tube. Would expect a -15 to -20 volts. The triode of the 6SQ7 should have at least -3 volts. Richard
