Mme Norma . . . . .
Your given "LB" is indeed an Olympic chassis designator of a B-W TV receiver of circa 1962 vintage. If you want to confirm by a second mode you just remove the back and take note of all of the tunbes used in the set and see if the majority of them might be custom marked for them with their Olympic brand marking.
That, along with a stern warning that use of other than the GEN-YOU-WINE Olympic tubes for replacement, will assuredly endanger one into onset of blindness from watching the degraded performance of the set. Examine a cluster of the original tubes in the set to seek out what is called a code date on tubes. If they happened to have used a 2-3 alphabetical sequence identifier you are out of luck.
HOWEVER, should they opted to use the more universally used numerical marking, you just might be in luck. Here's basicaly how that works . . . . say you see 61-17 . . . or 0-43, lets take those as potentials.
Now the 61-17 is easy, that is designated the tube being 19-61 and the 17 being the 17th week production of that 1961 year. Now if using the shorter, more cryptic designative . . . .0-43 . . . that would be the 0 (zero) from the numerical end suffix of 1940-1950-1960-1970, with you being able to weed out the 1940 (what televisions ???) and the 1950 (That BIG ! of a screen on that OLD ! of a TV ?.
Then there is the 1960 candidate . . . which works out the best . . . . . and the last "You've got a new B&W TV in 1970 ?.
And of course then the simple 43rd week, for a combinational of the 43rd week of 1960 . . . fully explaining the 0-43.
Sooooooo, further check out a large cluster of the sets original tubes, to confirm the age of your folley, with that last method usually being within a year or two's accuracy. Thassit . . . .
