I have a De Forest Crossley Radio and on the paper flyer inside it says the "Norfolk" and "Kent" models and on the back on the stamped tag on the chassis it reads Model 77B. Anyway if someone could tell me the year or model or where I could find a schematic for it that would be great thanx. Brian

Hi Brian

There is a De Forest Crosley "Kent" model shown here on nostalgiaair. It's listed as 1935-1936. Check the address below.

Thanx Norm I that is the amp, I am still unsure as to which one it is as it says it uses the same circuit for the "Kent" the "Marquis" and "Norfolk" but it is definately the right schem. One of the tubes is an 88M and in it's place on mine their is a 6k7 is this a proper substitute?

I believe you have the Kent model. Mallory Yaxley Radio Encyclopedia shows the Kent using the 77B chassis number and the Norfolk using a 78 chassis number. The cabinets will differ but the same chassis will be used in several models including Rogers and Majestic. Tha cabinet model may be rubber stamped somewhere inside the wood cabinet.

The 6K7 is an acceptable substitute for the Rogers 88M sprayshield tube. On the Rogers tube pin one is connected to the shield. If the 6K7 is a glass tube instead of metal you may require a shield to be added.
