RESTRINGING DIAL CORD

Can anyone assist me with my attempt to restring a cord with a dial pointer The diagram says "with gang fully closed" does this mean with the plates fully to the left or the right? Thanks for your help.

Closed, Fully meshed= same thing.

:Gang fully closed usually means turned all way to left depending if hi end of bc band on l or r of dial. Ganged fully closed also means the part that rotates is turned "down" into the stationary part
