Reading Capacitor Values
10/8/2010 8:41:53 PMDaniel
Hi,
In older radio schematics I see some capacitor values labelled such as 470UUF(micro micro F). Is this the same value as a 470 pico F capacitor?
Everyone have a great weekend!! Thank you for any replies!!

Yes, when the metric system took over, some things in older schematics got new names in new ones. mmFd became pF, and m became k, meg became m. Cps became Hz, etc, etc,. Sometimes, you just have to figger out what is a reasonable value, and hope for the best. For example, a 500M resistor would be a bit strange in a radio, while a 500K would be quite reasonable.
