i have an admiral 7rt42.the speaker and out put transf. are bad[part#78B 19-1].IS THERE a replacement you can advise me on.i have some scrap radio speakers,but do not know how to tell which one to replace with.is their areplacement model # that i can sub.

:Well, you're lucky that it's a PM speaker and not a field coil. Any speaker of the correct size that will mount should work. I wouldn't worry about the impedance too much,any 8 ohm should okay.

:To be safe, I'd try to use the old transformer, but if that's not feasible, yeah, replace the whole thing. I'd just use some clip leads to temporarily hook the new one up. If it sounds okay, then use it.

:terry,thanks for your help.now i have another question.the radio works great.the phono works,but,the sound is real faint and it sounds like itis coming from the phono and not from radio speaker.is this possible and how do i get more sound out.
