Hi All, recently aquired a Mod 169 Cathedral checked this site out for a schematic but the schematic for this unit is unreadable at best it is on page 4. My question is where could I find a good schematic for this set. My other question is, there is a dual capacitor (Paper & Wax) one side is a .03 which is no problem to replace but the other side is a .00017 what could I use to replace it with? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks George T.

George,
On the schematic, you can wait to see if someone on the FORUM has one they can send to you or you can check with sams photofax, it will cost money though, check ebay for the schematic also.
Is the dual cap DC filter?
I bought standard caps at justradios and got a .00018 mfd, though could use a .0002 mfd.

I have 3 of these capacitors in this chassis. The other 2 caps are (2X .02) With grounding lugs. This is the first time I've seen anything like this. On the 2X .02's you get values off of the two end leads and each end lead to the grounding lug. I did find a schematic just have to wait for it to arrive.

Sir George Tee . . . . .
You have no problem in using individual units replacing the dual units, with the potentially shorter lead lengths being of some advantage in the RF bypassing aspects.
The most critical capacitor, of all in the group, would be the item # 24 audio coupling cap, in which case you want NO DC leaking thru it, into the following 1st grid of the AF output stage.
That 180-(200-220) pf cap might be easiest found as a silver mica unit as compared to finding a ceramic unit of adequate voltage rating.
