Grill Cloth

What other sources of reproduction grill cloth are there besides Antique Electronic Supply and Radio Daze? Yes, I have sometimes used material from a fabric store, etc. But I want to be as authentic as I can with some sets. Specifically, I need grill cloth for a beautiful Capehart-Farnsworth 410 series. Grill cloth is a coppery-gold. Cabinet is mahogany, and grill cloth is behind doors. Original grill cloth is stained and damaged beyond repair, and I am trying to do a first class job with this set. Thanks, Ed M

:Hi! Ed,
If you google " bret's old radios " and click on his link that takes you to ebay, there are many samples there. Also you can go to ebay and search "grill cloth" and you'll find lots of choices there also.

I had a puppy who chewed on the original rille cloth on a 49 philco. So I went to lowes and bought the punched aluminum, which comes in the old clover cut, triangle and a couple others. I primered it, painted it an old brass color and cut to size. It is over a burgundy fabric and looks wonderful, plus no one can kick it it at the bottom. No it is not original, but it does get the compliments. Looks better than the original. This way, you can use about any color fabric, but the brass stands out ahead of it. Remember to look at the seams of the fabric to see the original color. I thought mine was gold and orange, it was burgundy...years of fade.
Just trying to help......
