Repainting Question?

I have several metal cased Hallicrafters radios and they have some rust & scratches on them and I want to repaint them. Where can I get new lettering for them? Or how do you paint the radios and save the lettering that’s on the radios now?

Hi,
Your best bet is to get some sheet decal film from a hobbyshop, and then photocopy the panel onto that decal film. Careful trimming, some "decal set", and a clear coat of the correct sheen will leave people wondering how, or where you got the markings.

You could also accomplish approximately the same thing using a color laser printer (if you have a rich friend who has one).

So far, there is not anyone that I am aware of that makes that lettering available.

One other option is to see if "Woodland Scenics" has the correct size, font face, and color for the lettering in a dry transfer lettering set. Again, a hobby shop should have this. If not, go to www.walthers.com
