I picked up a Zenith 6goo1y at flea market Sunday. My Slussers 5th edition says radio worth $45 to $55. Would someone please tell me current value?

well...is it complete? or is it in pieces? does it work? we need more info!
any radio is only worth what someone else may pay for it. what may be 45-55 in a price guide may be worth no more than 10 to me

The 6th edition lists a range of $50-60.
What did you pay for it?

Values are just way too subjective. All the price guide is is a relative scale of radio rarity and desirability and not a very good one at that.
You can't put a number on it over the internet, that's what appraisers are paid to do and even they don't all agree.
This website is about fixing up old radios, not about determining their value sight unseen.

What is it worth has always been annoying to me. Some people get the idea you have to squeeze every penny you can out of it. Worth and Value are relative terms. If you like the item, the worth means more to you. Others could care less about some dirty old radio. (big deal). Think sometimes about what the value is, passing an old radio along for a nominal dollar fee, for someone else to treasure and enjoy. There is worth in that.

You may or may not be right. Best to offer the used tubes on e-Bay.
Many old radios sell for less than the "value" of the tubes.

:Just saw a Sparton "Bluebird" on Antique Roadshow this morning. Looked to be in good shape. The "expert" said it was worth $2,000. Anyone care to comment?

On forums, at radio shows and the like - it's best to play your cards close to your chest. It's simply human nature not wanting to pay a premium for something you got dirt cheap. When asked how much you paid - simply reply "enough to get it".....
