All I hear is crickets. WAMPAS Mission Bell 393. Would a tube list help? Dave G.
:Just bought a nice restored radio. It has a factory Mission Bell tag Model 393. it's wood with six buttons front and appears to have two basic frquencies. as shown on the dial AM and short wave or emergency. Name on dial is WAMPAS. Couldn't find it in your lookup stuff. Any clues of where I can find a schematic. Riders list a 392 and I think a 394. My guess is that WAMPAS was maybe a canadian Wards or something similar. Thanks in advance.

The dial has WAMPAS on it and Kelly Music and lists a bunch of stations:KMTR,KHQ, KGW, KFI, KPO, KMPC, KEHE, KGO, KOA, KHJ, KFWB, KNX, KRKO, KFOX, KFAC, KGER, KECA, KGA. these might help date or region, which I assume is west coast, because Mission Bell was in Venice, near LAX. Thanks in advance. Dave G
:Will pull them this PM. Thanks.

:Sorry about the previous post. Radiomuseum.org does not show a 393 either. However, a model 972 does match your tube lineup & has the 6 pushbuttons, I.F. 465KHZ, 1936 model, but AM only?

Just a dumb question. If the radio is restored, shouldn't it work properly ? Any guarantee available ?

I thought you were having problems with the radio.
Don't quit tinkering with ol' radios. They are fun, although a bit addictive...
