How to Test 6227 Tube ??
7/29/2010 9:44:28 PMBill Jewell
Hello, I have a Hickok 6000 and 6000A tube tester, however, a 6227 tube does not appear on the roll charts. Is there a way to test this tube on one of these testers? You can either reply to this posting or email me directly at OldRadios@AOL.COM

Thanks!

Bill

6227 is same as E80L. Some information can be found here.

It's said to be similar to 6M5 which I believe is used in Australia?

I am not able to locate the E80L or 6M5 tubes on my tester roll charts either. Would someone be able to provide me with the settings for testing the 6227 ?

Thanks!

Sir Bill . . . . . .

I'm not finding anything with the "9N" series of pin outs . . . not even finding the " 6CK6" tube data suggested pin outs that is listed on this sites tube data .

Now is this just a tube that you have floating around and are querying its status . . . .or are you in the ACTUAL repair process of an old Aus-straaaay- lian radio?

Now if the tube actually happens to be for an AF output function, and if we can rely on the given 6M5 info as being a proper sub.

It seems the 6M5 tube HAS been suggested as being problematic in its past.

(Considering that your industrial numbered version might not have been a ruggedized upgrade ?)

It might be further worthwhile to take a read on this info at this site for their resultant end solutions @.

(Ending up down at the 6GW8/ECL86 info.)
