1985 AOC TV set. Where to donate it?
7/7/2010 11:46:33 AMDave Froehlich
Hello All,
This TV may be too new to talk about in this forum. But no thrift store will accept it in my area. It's a 19" tv and I have kept it in working order for all this time. It still works like new and it has a very bright picture. Where can I donate it where it wont get thrown out? It can still be used, it still works great.

Thanks,

Dave

A lot depends on where you live. Here is California TV's aren't accepted as donations. Even working you have to pay to have it dumped. Once a year or so a company will come by to pick up TV's and other electronics for recycling.

This year I recycled a 36" working CRT TV. No one wanted it. Hate to get rid of it but only took up room. Out here people only want those narrow types.

If Craig's List doesn't work you may be able to save parts from the TV?

Usually if you put something like that up on Craigslist in the free section, and show a good clear photo of it working, it will find a new home rather quickly.

There could also be a Freecycle group in your area, those are usually based on Yahoo.

Same thing, someone will want it for the kids to play games on.
