The original was like used on Radiola 17 and 18. Only it didn't say RCA.
You can find reproductions for RCA here:

I knew about the Radiola Guy. And now looking at his reproduction lamp hoods closer. He does give the option to order one without the RCA logo for Brunswick.

:I have a 5KR. I've looked at a lot of them and never actually see a lamp there. I even did a search and couldn't find a replacement. Remember that estruchion(sp?) was made for several different radios with similar chassis'. However, they weren't all the same. For instance, the Radiola power supply is not an exact replacement. All that said, though, there IS a note on the schematic that says. "connect pilot light leads to UX-171A terminals on 5PU" I could never figure out what that meant, but there DO seem to be two terminals for the light.

So- if anyone knows where to get a hood, I can probably jury-rig a lamp holder.
Thanks,
Terry

Been thinking how to make a lamp hood. It's such a simple looking item. Thought about cutting a ping-pong ball, use just 1/4th of it. paint the inside flat black, and the outside bronze. The reproduction is $35.00 I guess it depends on how bad you want it. My 5KR is in near perfect condition. Just about sways me to just get the darn reproduction.

Thanks again for the head's up.
The set plays great and I'm waiting for the speaker to be finished so it'll make a nice display.

:I can live without it for now. When I get ready to sell it, it might be worth the investment.

Thanks for the complement Terry. I tried the ping-pong ball thing for the heck of it. I am surprised too how well it turned out. The paint used on the outside of the hood, is the Ace Metallic antique gold. Use some tape on tape to hold the cut ball down when you spray paint it.
