1 meg is the standard modern value. Although not necessary you might like to use a 1 or 2 watt resistor. They are larger and would look better in an old radio.

:I know this has been discusses on numerous occasions but I have worked myself into a lather trying to make the conversion from the old style dogbone resisters to the newer terminolgy. I broke a resister with a brown body with a black end. The schematic calles it a 1 meg. What is the modern value? I cant seem to get it through my thick skull.
