Arvin 540T and 35Z5GT tube layout.

I have a wiring diagram for the Arvin 540T I got at: http://perso.cybercable.fr/amradio/arv-sch.jpg The pin layout for the 35Z5GT doesn't make sense with the pin diagram at NostalgiaAir http://www.nostalgiaair.org/scripts/showbase.dll?TYPE=35Z5GT&BASE=6AD Can anyone confirm the tube pin layout is correct? Also the Schem. has electrolyte capacitors as a 3part 50/50/25 when in fact my radio has 40/20/20 and I'm sure is original as I've owned the radio since 1953. The tube layout on NotalgiaAire shows the plate as pin 5 and I think its pin 8. Also it shows the cathode as pin 8 where as I think it is pin 6 which the diagram doesn't show as used. ... Rich

Hi Rich

Plate of 35Z5GT is pin #5. AC input goes to this pin. Cathode is pin #8. DC for your radio starts here. Pins #2 and #7 are filament with #3 being a lamp tap. Arvin usually didn't use a lamp.

Electrolytic values aren't critical. 30 50 @ 150 volts was popular but 40 20 was also used. Some manufacturers used different values. When you replace these caps be sure voltage is equal to or greater than the original. New caps will be rated 33 mfd @ 160 volts and 47 mfd @ 160 volts.
