Wire for Re-wirng Headphones

I would like to re-wire my vintage headphones, any suggestions on replacement wire?

www.tubesandmore.com definitely used to (and may still), and www.radiodaze.com may sell wire intended specifically for headphones. The wire is multi-conductor tinsel wound for extreme flexibility and longevity, the top part being wired so that the two ear pieces are in series, forming a 'Y', and the bottom part being brought out in two conductors for phone tips, and a tie cord for strength, should a plug be wired on. --All being insulated in flexible cloth.

However, I just had a look at the two sites, and do not see this type of wire; only straight two conductor tinsel wire for speakers. You may be able to form a 'Y' yourself if you are good with a needle and thread.
