5/27/2010 2:06:49 PMGerman Morelli
Hi! I´m looking for the scheamtics for this radio, it´s a Philips Type B4X37A, very rare!
I think some coil is missing (someone cut out some wires!!), no reception in any band.

My only suggestion is RadioMuseum; you have to be a member to retrieve schematics, and it is a long and difficult process to join. You may be able to find a member if you go to Antique Radio Forums and ask for a member to download a schematic for you.

This guy lists a B4X23A free service manual. May be close enough.

Sir German. . . . . .

I believe that suggested schematic is incorporating . . . FM.

Now, in looking at your supplied tube lineup . . . . that would not be including a FM front end tube.

Now if your unit happens to have coverage of :

SW1 . . . 12,4 . . . .26 Mhz

SW2 . . . .9 . . . . . .12 Mhz

SW3 . . . .3 . . . . . .9 Mhz

MW . . . ..517 . . . .1620 Khz

I do think that I might have found a work around schematic.

Not important, but is the unit in a wooden or plastic cabinet ?

There is a great and nice site: http://www.radiotechniek.nl (it´s free registration to download the schems)
The most similar radio that I found it´s the B4X47A it´s almost the same! I´ll study the circuit to see if I can found the missing component.
Many thanks to all you guys, for your help and concern!!

:Thank you very much Johnnysan, perhaps the best option is to become a member of Radiomuseum, whenever I get a European radio becomes very difficult to get the schemes, that is one reason why I prefer american radios!

::Sorry for the double post.
A few years ago I posted a request for a schematic for a Phillips B5X23A on a European radio site that I did not belong to, and a kind gentleman from the Neitherlands emailed me a copy along with some other information. It's always worth a try. There are some nice guys out there - all over the world.

Sir German. . . . . .

I do believe that this will work for you in locating the missing item(s) . . . I even made it into one large single page and the RF tuned circuits are color coded in [Pale Yellow].

The oscillator stages are in [ Pale Orange ] and the two IF transformers are in [ Pale Aqua ].

The highest freq SW coils are the top units and the frequencies/bands walk downwards on the page, whereas the MW band is accomplished by the switching in of the extra capacitance that is being red line linked into the lowest SW bands coils as are shown.

Likewise . . . the “S” designator numbers are decreasing for the lower frequency bands.

Of course the very last “ transformers” involved would be the power transformer and the AF transformers and you would SURElY notice them being missing.

Edd, I really appreciate your concern, the unitized schem will be very helpful for me!! The PT and AF transformers are in place.
In the next days I´ll get into work with the Philips
Many thanks!!
