262 kc i.f. transformers?
7/1/2001 2:46:43 AMChristopher Potempa
Greetings all -- for whatever reason, a previous owner removed and discarded a 262kc i.f. transformer from the radio of my '36 Pontiac (United Motors model 983506). Does anyone have a source on a replacement (I've already tried Antique Electronics Supply)? Thanks.

Hi Christopher

Check Play Things of Past, oldradioparts.com . If you don't find a 262 IF Transformer use a 455 with added capacity across each winding. Try caps around 220 pf.

Hi,
262 KC IF's are actually a common automotive tube radio IF. If you can find one that has is beyond help, you can pilfer the IF's out of it.

Also Philco, and a few communications recievers used 262 Kc IF's, so if you have parts for those available to you, they should work fine also.
