I am looking for the alignment procedures for a Crosley 1933 model 158, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Bobby, I don't have the alignment details for this set but have sent you the schematic. It indicates an IF of 181.5 kHz. The set uses a 56 triode as a diode detector, the grid used as the diode plate and the plate connected to the cathode as a shield. There's an RF stage and autodyne converter. Alignment should be straightforward. Peak the IF transformers at 181.5 kHz, repeating until they all are maximum. Then set the oscillator trimmer for maximum at about 1200 kHz and the padder for 600 kHz. Rock the dial while adjusting the padder for maximum, since the aerial coil isn't adjustable for the low end of the dial some juggling will be required to get it to peak with the oscillator. The dial pointer might have to be moved slightly too for correct dial readings and maximum response (if it's just a numbered dial, 0 - 100 the exact position won't matter). The aerial and RF trimmers are peaked at 1400 kHz. They all interact so repeat the procedure until they have the closest tracking (once the IFs are set don't touch them again). Don Black.
