Early Automotive Radio

Hello All,
I have read that as a promotional item, Chevrolet offered the first automotive radio as an accessory in 1924 for a price of $200 (almost half the price of the car!) It was touted to receive broadcasts in a 100-mile radius of the broadcasting station. Does anyone know the details of this radio such as make/model? Would it have been TRF or Superhet? (Can you imagine tuning an early TRF while driving down the road?) I am interested in finding out more about these early radios because I'm looking for something appropriate to go in my 1928 Chevrolet coupe. Thanks!!

Hi,
It may have been a Sparton, models AR19, and AR50 are listed in Riders. They are TRF types built for automobiles.

There is a chance there may have been another manufacturer, but the Sparton models should be contemporary for 1928.
