Cabinet veneering

Has anyone done any full cabinet veneering with wraparound corners? I need to do a GE A-53 tombstone with both sides and the top are one long wraparound piece. I could use some input, technique, glue and any helpful information.
Thanks, Brett

Hi Brett.

I have done some round corner work and I think it has come out OK.

I always soak the veneer first and use traditional wood adhesive. ( the white milky kind). I first made a wood corner moulding and placing the veneer under the corner moulding clamped the moulding to the radio. When dry I then had the corner stuck tight but with two 'ears hanging to each side. Folding first one side and securing I waited until dry before securing the other 'ear flap'. Bit long winded I know but doing it this way I did not get any wrinkles and it moulded perfectly. I guess you could steam it on and or tack as you go but an old time carpenter told me to do it this way.

Frank
