Majestic Model 15 -Osc. coil and 1st IF Assembly needed
1/11/1999 11:41:44 AMTom Perry
Hi, I am in the process of restoring an old Majestic model 15 Receiver and am trying to find a replacement osc. coil and 1st IF assembly for this unit. The Primary of the IF coil is open - even if you have a specs, it would be helpful, if I have to re-wind it. The unit that is defective was made by Hammerlund andf it's a 175khz IF any info would be appreciated. ..... Thank you Tom

Hi Tom

If you don't come up with an IF transformer it can be bypassed. Put a 22K resistor across the open winding to supply plate voltage to the 35/51 tube. Add a small cap 100-200pf from the plate to the next tube grid.

Hopefully your osc. coil doesn't have a problem. With the IF Transformer open the oscillator will not run since the plate voltage will be missing on the tube.

Good luck..

Tom,
Are you sure the coil is really open? I had an Apex 7 that seemed to have open IFs (one is in common with oscillator coil too!) until I opened the cans and checked the lugs-the screws were tarnished and were not making contact.

been there done that. it will probably need the second if as well. i found the first and then the second was green as the giant.
try playthings of the past. 216-251-3714. also look up warren parks web page. i think he is listed above concerning other questions.

you are looking for a meissner direct replacement. do not remember the number. but majestics coils were all bad. i have some but need them
for other majestics in the future.
