Hi A. B. Tiller,
The value of R18 in your Simpson 260 meter is 22.5 ohms. It's connected between the 100 mA and 10 Amps switch terminals (R19 and R5). When I get my scanner set up I'll send you a schematic and data for the meter. Perhaps you can select a high tolerance 22 ohm resistor with a digital meter at 22.5 ohms. I suggest a 1 or 2 watt metal film or wire wound resistor. Otherwise you can wind a resistor to the right value from resistance wire. Good luck, if you need any more info just email me. Don.
: Hi A. B. Tiller,
: I work for Simpson Electric and for the Simpson models 260-7 and 260-8, the value of R18 in these meters is 138.0 ohms (1/2 watt, 1.0% accuracy). If you have an older series of 260, please let me know and I can provide that information to you as well. The R14 resistor is the one that has a value of 22.5 ohms - please do not try putting a 22.5 ohm resistor in place of the R18 138.0 ohm resistor. If you have any other questions please email me at HarrisDrew@aol.com. The "series" number for your 260 can be found on the bottom center of the dial below the model number (260). Thanks,
Drew Harris

I have a Simpson Model 260 Ser No. 18842 and need an
operation manual. Probably an overhaul or at least an
IRAN(Inspect and Repair and Necessary) is also in
order due to damage from drop. Are there replacement
cases available? Thansk
