Silvertone 101.847 What model Wire recorder was this used in?
12/31/2009 2:40:16 PMDave Froehlich
Hello All,
Does anyone know what models of Silvertone wire recorders this amplifier chassis was used in? All I know so far is that it was a metal luggage type portable, that had a deck (different chassis number) that could also play 78RPM records. This amplifier has loktal tubes in it.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Again All,
I guess nobody knows. Is this a prototype set or something? It doesn't make any sense to me. The schematic for this amplifier has to be somewhere.

Maybe it does exist. If you know where I can find it, please let me know.

Thanks,

Dave

Sir Dave. . . . . .

Strange . . you usually end up getting with it and eventually answering your own questions .

Sure its o.k. on the paper versus electrolytic, on the input circuit of the other unit.

Don't have the data on the Fisher to confirm the ge /vs/ sil situation on its diodes.

Pity that one of the screw in lamps was intact, so that you could confirm its voltage rating BUT
MAINLY its current draw. Then select an according "grain of wheat" replacement lamp and
solve the mechanical mounting and voltage / current altering to trim in to specs.

I have wire recorder data on their two versions, of which the other is using octal tubes, so here is
the one attached, that is using Loktal toobies.

That should down right be FUN -CITY on that units meee-chanicals.

Edd,
This unit has 6 Loktal tubes in it. It also has a power transformer. The schematic you provided shows 8 tubes. So I don't think this is the same set.

Thanks,

Dave

Edd,
There's no radio in this one either.

Thanks,
