I'm still learning about these really old radios and am not sure about what I'm looking at on this old radio. First of all, I can't find the paper caps unless they are inside the aluminum cans with some of the coils. If so, I guess that means desoldering the entire can to be able to to get to them. I also can't find anywhere on the schematic the values of what I "think" are the e-caps. They appear to be inside aluminum rectangular cases and are oozing wax so whatever they are will need to be replaced. Of course, This is the first one of these old radios that I have ever seen much less worked on so I may be way out in left field on all this. Any help or insight on this radio would be greatly appreciated.

AHHH yes the old cap. cans. When you get a schematic..study it and understand what goes where..and you will eventually learn...You can very carfully take cap(s) off your radio...(if mounted to chassis..use a rotary tool to grind off underneath saving rivvits to solder back on) Pry apart cans (use a small heat torch if you have to) Take out old parts ..put in new ones...

:I thought that may be the direction I was going to have to go....slooooow and methodical process. I still don't have any idea about the e-caps,though. There is sure somethong inside those rectangular boxes that ooze wax!
