General Electric 50

I just picked up a GE 50 recently from dmradios.com (thanks again Bill!) and I found little to do to it. It works perfectly, loud and clear, though being a 4 tuber, selectivity is a little broad, but not bad in a strong signal area.

Now, my question is the clock motor is noisy, and it runs slow. How is the motor lubricated? The thing is sealed, and a drop of machine oil on the out put shaft did nothing. Is there an easy way to lube the motor without destroying it? And what do I use for lube? WD40, 3-in-1 oil, a 30 year old bottle from Radio Shack of Taperecorder lube?

Thanks,

Tony

Here is a link showing a Telechon clock motor being de-gooped and re-oiled. Scroll down the page.
