Check your 35Z5GT. A 35Z5GT has a heater tap where the pilot lamp connects. Part of filament may be open. On a 35Z5GT there should be continuity on pins #2, #3 and #7, using an ohm meter. Shorted electrolytic caps will blow a section of this tube.

: I have managed to get a Westinghouse model C577 (Canadian model)
: working but am unable to get the pilot lamp to function.
: With the lamp removed from the socket, the voltage on the
: heater tap (35Z5-GT) is 0 volts. When the lamp is in the
: socket, full line voltage (120v) is measured at the same
: pin. Thanks.

Hello Norm
Thank you for your very prompt info... You were right on the money; an open existed between 2 & 3 and also 2 & 7 on the rectifier. I am now on the quest for a replacement. I really appreciate your help.
Hello again folks. I have finally found two good 35Z5GT tubes but the pilot lamp is still not working. Also most voltages are running about 15 - 20% above indicated values (power supply problem??) Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
