:: I miss the BBC on shortwave, but being on the internet must save them lots of money.
:: Some of the english-speaking broadcasts, when they aren't on a political rant are quite interesting to listen to. Many countries still like Americans, but maybe are wary of our government.
:: Radio Havana and WBCQ have installments on old radios and propagation/reception tips.
:: Glad you got the old Hallicrafter's going. Was this the S-77A? I saw the manuals for the S-77 on BAMA and the dial stringing was included. Some of these are a real 'cat's cradle'. Are you using a long-wire antenna?
:: Glad also to hear that you and the wife's health concerns have stabilized.

Hey, everyone:
Somethime in my past with Delta, "they" decided that we needed a certain tie cord. This stuff is black nylon, very much coarser than fishing line, and works GREAT as dial cork. As I was issued a large spool (~ 250 feet) and never knew what to do with it, it came home with me in my tool tray when I retired. It worked great on my S77A, and I have more than I will ever know what to do with. Need dial cord? I will mail you reasonable quantities for free, just to see such a wonderful cord not go to waste when i die.
You have my e-mail and I am here. let me know if I can help.
