I have a Packard Bell radio that the model number is missing. Can anyone give me a model number from the tube line up?
80, 6A7, 75, 78, 42
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
If the 78 was subbed for the 6D6, here's 2 possibilities:

Thanks Carl
The schematic was close enough to help. With the tube data for the 42 tube I was able to determine the auto output transformer is open. I have no sound and no B+ on the plate of the 42 tube. A resistance check of the output transformer verified that it is indeed open. I forgot to mention that the dial reads Packer Bell Stationized. It also has a shortwave band. If I can find a replacement output transformer I'll see if I can get it to play.

I found out what model Packard Bell I have. It is a model 36. It looks like someone has modified it to use tubes with 6.3 volt filaments. The original tube line up was 58, 58, 55, 2A5. These were all 2.5 volt filaments. Here is a link to a picture of the radio I have.
