General Motors Capaciter blocks in model 251

Is there any information available to help me in identifying the values of the various connections coming from these metal blocks? I am unfamiliar with this set-up.

That C2 canned capacitor is including the majority of sections within the receiver that require a bypassing action to ground.


This should be all of the needed info, all clustered up in this one area, then all you would need to do then is to identify each
section of the C2 multi section capacitor.


The first info is arranged as a [YELLOW] mark up schema of all sections of C2 that are involved.


The mid section is the values of capacitance units within the unit, and their particular circuit function is listed just below that.
The third section is the expected voltages to be found across those sections.


The C2 A and C can experience some very high Audio peak voltages, should the volume be cranked up, so might as well use
1000 WVDC ratings for those two units.


The C2 B, D, E, and F sections experience from ~60--250 volts, as can be seen by the third sections voltage ratings info,you might do well to just use 600v ratings for all of them.


(Possibly, excluding that E section which should never see over 60 V and use a 100VDC rating , since a 1 ufd at 600 VDC rating can be quite pricey in a paper / poly cap type).


The least taxed is the G section which could get along with a 50 V rating.


Consult one section of the capacitor on the schematic and see what it routes to on the schematic and then use an ohmmeter to
confirm zero ohms continuity between that section and the particular point(s) in the circuitry that it is supposed to be going to
and then bypassing to ground.


Involved tube pin outs are placed on the last section.
