Fada Model 20 schematic
11/16/2009 5:07:16 PMJeff
Hello All,

I am looking for a schematic for this radio. I found some here on Nostalgia that have a 76 tube. My version doesn't have a 76 (it does have the 25L6) and the capacitors listed on the schematic that is supposedly for a 20, 20A and 20T don't appear to be the same as my radio. Perhaps it was an attempt to show both versions on one schematic?

It seems that Fada used a part numbering system instead of using the capacitor rating?? I see on the schematic with the 76 tube, that a "C" 10.5 is a .05uF. However another one is marked 10.4 and it is shown as .05uF. Another one is shown as a 006 and the part number is 10.3. Yet another shows 002 and it has 10.13 next to it.

On the electrolytics I see three 16uF marked as 20.79 and 20.83 + 20.83.

So I don't think I can go by the part number printed on the capacitors: Some on this chassis are C10.38, C10.39, C10.7, C10.10. Does anyone have a schematic of the Fada 20 without the 76? The tube line up is 6A7, 6D6, 6Q7, 25L6, 25Z5 & 115-41 Ballast or have information on how to figure out the FADA cap numbering system?

Thanks in advance!
Jeff

Heads up Trojan came on the e-mail. I picked up a nasty trojan from the e-mail. I am not sure if this was intentional or not. My antivirus software killed it during a scan. The attachment was a pdf of a schematic but it was the wrong schematic for the tube lineup. The schematic was likely copied from this site. The e-mail was a .ca

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the heads-up. I have good anti-virus s/w on my computer so I am surprised. I am running a complete system scan.

Also, I sent you additional schematics for Fada radios that match your tube lineup.

Hope they help.

Gary

Hi Jeff,
I recommend that you check to see if the diodes on the 6Q7G are used. They may have merely substituted the 6Q7G for the 76 when the 76's became hard to find. In that case the diodes that come out on pins 3 and 4 would not be used and the schematic you have will be good.
As a side benefit, no more viral risks.

Bst Regards,

Bill
