Is it worth my making an attempt at trying to find ways to put it in working order again?
It may be something as minor as a broken wire, bad capacitor(s), or other failed component. If you are not familiar with electronics, the unit can be either educational, or frustrations enclosed in metal. They are pretty basic, most of the component failures will be able to be found- most just take time.
This is one of those projects that are going to be more dependant upon the amount of time you are able to dedicate to the repair, as opposed to fixing the holes in the wall.
: In an attempt not to be redundant, I scanned all the messages posted on this site. I found only two that made a reference to the FASCO AM/FM Intercom system. Apparently, the house I just bought is equipped with the "red-headed step-child" of the radio world and it doesn't work at all. None of it works. Not the radio nor the intercom.
