I know that when speakers are paralleled their impedances are reduced, in series they are added. What happens to the wattage for the spearker ? When resistors are paralleled the wattage increases, is this the same for speakers? My grandpa found 6 NIB Jensen c6-tx hi-fi dual cone speakers, 8 ohms, 7.5 watts. Can 3 of these be paralleled to get 2 ohms at 22.5 watts? or put in series to get more wattage? I would like to add them to my 1934 mystery amp setup. pp 2a5's ~15-20 watts. Also does anyone have info on these speakers? or a value? 6 NIB with documentation.
Thanks
Ian
Wattage adds up. Whether you series, parallel or series-parallel them.
Use google to find more data and value for those.
Also, make sure your amp supports 2 ohms on its output.
