Has anyone had success replacing these metal core transformers with an RC circuit? What values might I experiment with?
:I have a Radiola 20 battery set with both interstage transformers open on both primary and secondary windings.

Brian Belanger wrote a piece about using both RC and xfrmr at the same time, here

Now that is one monster URL !!
You may want to check out:

If you have an original audio interstage transformer from your Radiola 20 the coil can be replaced. The coil sold by AES and Radio Daze has a 1/2 x 1/2 opening. These will fit inside the Radiola transformers.
Older transformers are held together by screws. Your transformers may be held with rivits. If so they can easily be drilled out and replaced by screws.
Inside of the transformer will be filled with rosin. It comes out easily.
