Tektronix 545 beam stuck at left off the screen
10/25/2009 3:12:04 PMDave Froehlich
Hello All,
Is there a corse adjustment of the horizontal centering control or is something else wrong. The beam is stuck off to the left and I cannot move it to the right. Currently I do not have a working vertical module to use. I will later today. But I don't think that has anything to do with moving the beam horizontally.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Again All,
Aparantly someone replaced the dual control with a single multi turn control. So either R230 or R248 is missing. I'm about to check this further. I guess it doesn't matter. It may be a problem with the resistor R247, R249 or possibly R253 or the tube V2468. Maybe I'll have to "add" a control.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Again,
There is no V246. R241 connects directly to the wiper of the horizontal position control. It's a multi-turn. I think I saw a military version on some web page with a single horizontal position control. Is anyone familiar with this military version and can help with this problem?

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Again Again,

There is an example of this Military 545 on this page:
http://mccworkshop.com/setup/scope1.htm
It has a single horizontal position control.

If this is normal then how can I adjust the horizontal position? So far I don't see anything wrong except the "omitted" tube.

Thanks,

Dave
