Unknown Radio

I have been asked by a friend to fix an antique radio that he has had sitting around for ages.

The back cover is missing so I cannot determine the make of this set. On the front it has a tag saying Knight. It is a dual band radio AM and Shortwave.

On the chassis there is a tag listing the patent licensing for the radio and the number 25-107492.

The tubes in this are:
43
75
6A7
6D6
25Z5

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you have a Knight (Allied) radio Model G9553 or a Model G9557. Look in this website under resources and under Allied for these model numbers. Looks like they both use a resistive cord to knock down the ac voltage.

WOW that appears to be the one. One note though, on this radio, the resister cord (used only for the filament string) was replaced with a multi-tapped resistive element wound around a mica form and mounted on an octal tube socket (with a perforated metal shield).

Again thanks so much for the help.
