Philco Mdel 80

Hi Folks.

The Philco Model 80 I am working on is turning me in circles. progressive weakness of signal through all stages following the first detector. All tubes test fine as does inter tube coupling. No dodgy caps or ground faults via iffy components. Any ideas?

Thanks. Frank. Doncaster England.

Could be the antenna coil. See here for a repair of that.

Or here for a few more tips

Posted wrong first Link. Sorry about that. See this one about the Green Dot thing. Scroll down page to see it.

I replaced all capacitors and most of the resistors in my unit. Capacitors would be the first thing I would change, but those old high impedance dogbone resistors can creep up in impedance significantly.
