You can bypass an open winding in an IF Transformer. In this case pin #5 is a diode detector plate. Just connect a resistor across the open winding. Then a small cap from the previous stage to pin #5. Cap can be 100 pf. Resistor 47K.

:Have a Philco pt-25 that is dead, nothing from the speaker. Tested all the tubes in another radio, and it played fine. Used an Ohm meter across the output transformer and heard some speaker noise. Found an open in one side of the 2nd IF transformer. The side connected to the 7C6 tube pin 5. Can this be by-passed using a resistor and cap method? Pin 5 is not a grid connection as shown in the bypass instructions (antiqueradios.com), but an anode connection.
