Tube Identification for Atwater Kent Model 60
4/8/2001 8:52:29 AMNick
I am working on an Atwater Kent Model 60 and am having a problem figuring out exactly what tubes the radio needs. I suspect that some of the tubes in the radio are not the correct ones. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Nick

The Atwater Kent 60 uses: 3 - 24, 2 - 27, 2 - 45 and 1 -80 tubes. The actual numbers in your radio may be different but within the markings should be these numbers. UX245 is a 45 tube.

5 pin tubes with cap on top are 24's. In some cases they could have been replaced with 35 tubes which also work. 27's are 5 pin tubes without top caps. 45's and 80 are both 4 pin. Don't get these reversed. Two 45's will be mounted next to each other and the 80 by power transformer.
