What do I replace old, corroded/green (I assume wire wound) resistors with wattage wise?
Was 'M' ever used to indicate thousands(k) on schematics? I have a few that measure k but are marked as M (e.g. 5M Ohms) on the schematic.

M=K in the older schematics. A pink band is most likely a red one faded from heat. There are "Dog-bone" types of resistors that could be mistaken for wire wound. You can always use a wire wound resistor if the wattage stated by the schematic is over 2 watts.

The " Dog-bone " resistor looks like resistor, but the end wires are wrapped around each end. If you could post the make and model number you are working on. Could give better help as to what your needs are.

Those are old resistors alright, and look to be wire wound too. the values at one time looks to have been printed on them. I bet if you measure them they are still within tolerance. By the size of the bigger one, I would say that's about 5 watts. The smaller one looks like it could be 3 watts. What is the make and model number?
