I am working on a beautiful Metz stereo radio/phono which is in very good condition except the wood cabinet is 'crazed' with serious cracks in the high gloss finish. I've seen this on many German radios with this type of high gloss finish.
Does anyone have suggestions other than stripping off the finish completely?

I have many German sets, The original finish is nitrocelluose, and will indeed crack after 50+ years..
The only way is to strip,,, I'm thinking about doing the same for one of my sets... not looking fopward to it..
