If you are new to repairing radios, you may have to start off with the most simple of things. Open Coils can be tested with an ohm meter for continuity. Open volume control too, transformers, and even the speaker. B+ voltage can be measured with the same Volt Ohm meter. Just because the tubes light up, only means they do. Post what you find after some testing. I am sure you will get more help after at least that.
:I am not getting any volume out of this radio. I just got the radio and the volume control was loose on the chassis and the 2 wires that go to it had came loose because of the loose control. I resoldered the wires and still nothing. All of the tubes light up. I am stumped What do I check and where do I begin?

:Open coil...bad resistor...or inside the volume control (where lugs come in contact with resistance strip) may be corroded...cold be many things...

This may not be the best set to learn troubleshooting with.

Majestic used a 5 section pot metal tuner. Over time it can warp and plates will touch. This will stop reception. Be sure plates don't short.

:John, what is called for here is systematic troubleshooting. That usually starts with checking all the voltages at the various tube socket pins, and comparing to the schematic or to the typical vlotages specified in a tube manual. It is usually counter-productive to take stabs, one at a time.

:John,
:My 90B had an open field coil, (which I rewound), and an open wire wound cathode resistor in the PP outputs,(which I patched back together) Good luck
