I have come across an Atwater Kent model number 55, 55C, 60, or 60C. Where on this piece can I find the model number or how can I distinguish the correct model?

Thank you in advance for the help.

In follow up to the above, this is the 6 legged table model.

Hi Nick

Different Atwater Kent radios were used in the "Kiel Table". Atwater Kent made radios. Others made the cabinets.

The model number will be on the AK radio, in back. Model 55 has a metal cabinet, which can stand alone or be used in console cabinet. The "C" doesn't have a cabinet and was made to be used in a console.

Model 55 & 55C have 2 - 24A tubes while 60 series has 3.

I think my 60-C has a plate down between the tubes and coil
towers that can only be seen from directly above.

Mine is also a Kiel table, a fine piece of furniture in
addition to being a heavy-as-a-tank top quality radio.
I need a power transformer for it, in case you run
across one!

Hi Chris

Check Play Things of Past, oldradioparts.com . They have a large selection of power transformers. You should be able to use one from a Model 60 or 70. A lot of other manufacturers used the same tubes. Other transformers would also work but may not be the exact size.

Yes, I've perused their vast selection of wonderfully
organized junque. I'm willing to use anything that meets
specs, but as of this week everything they have
was a mismatch on either voltage, current, or physical
size. Their selection seems as though it would change
regularly so I'm going to keep checking.

Looking for a speaker for a Atwater Kent model 317 and have no idea where to look or how much it should cost.

Any help would be appreciated.

:Hi there:
I have a cabinet that has Atwater Kent Model D Cabinet on the back. It also has a serial number C520941. There is no radio with it, just a cabinet. Any ideas on where I can find info on this?

Try the Atwater Kent site at
http://web2.airmail.net/vanew/

You can look through pictures of a lot of models and see which models might have been used in that cabinet.

Also the Archives portion of this site
http://www.radioattic.com/
has over 3000 photos of radios.

Once you identify the chassis model you might be able to find one, assuming you want to restore the radio. Come back if you need references to places to find chassis. Good luck.
