Hi, I've got a pair of these speakers. I've read thay have an elaborate crossover network. Is it possibly that the capacitors in this are bad? some low frequencies are distorted. Yhese are from 1965-70's. Also how to I get them open the back is made of particle board, and there are no screws holding it on the the box. Any help is appreciated

I think the front grille cover pulls off. The speakers are mounted from the front. I bet it's not anything to do with the cross over network, but speaker deteriorated foam surrounds. Here is a link in case you need it for a fix-it-yourself kit.

Thanks, I got one open. There was no foam abd i determined that my amp was the problem (wrong impedance) When both speakers are in parallell it sounds great! Back in the 60's these things were almost $200 each so they better be good. I have them hooked to my unknown amp from 1934. It has no markings what so ever, but looks and sounds great.
Thans for the help
Ian
