Well.. I seem to be stumping the crowd lately...

Here goes: I'm looking for a power supply and speaker from a Freshman Equaphase.. I have a beautiful console, with the RF/AF section, but the power supply and speaker are lost to time. Any help appreciated.

Hi Scott

If you have the Freshman Equaphase in Rider Vol #1 the power supply may not have been lost. This was a battery operated radio. A power supply could be made. I'll send you some information.

Hi Norm,

Definitely used to be an AC model... a power socket is still there, and I can see where the power supply used to be. This is a big console radio. When the doors open, they reveal the tuning knobs and the speaker. Opening the doors used to trip a switch to turn the radio on. When you lift the lid, this reveals the RF/AF section.

A friend of mine "cleaned" up the chassis.. it is absolutely gorgeous. So, I figured I should bring it all the way back. I would love to make it original again, but would settle on functional to start with. Kind of figured I would be building a new supply for it and installing a PM speaker.. but I'll keep my hopes up that originals can be found in the future.

Thanks for the info. This should help greatly.

Hi,
Freshman only had a few dfferent power supplies.

I would suggest that you check the G-60-s page, it will include the model G chassis- which "might" be what you actually have. The Equaphase model name had been applied to a couple of console models too.
