The transformer has a center-tapped high voltage winding
to supply B+ to the rectifier tube (80) plate. The 80 usually
uses something like 250 V I think. I need to replace this
transformer, and may have to settle for one that is not
an exact replacement since these are getting scarce. Say I go to
oldradioparts.com and look at the transformer listings.
Would the proper transformer be listed as 250-0-250 VAC or
125-0-125 VAC?
You would need 250-0-250 volts. Are you sure the old transformer is bad? Try operating the radio without #80 tube. If tubes light and transformer doesn't overheat it should be ok.
If it has to be replaced you also need a 5 volt @ 2 amp & 2.5 volt around 13 amp windings.

It's a tall order, finding this particular combination
of outputs these days. Antique Electronic Supply has
a replacement for $79. That's more than the chassis
is worth! It's like fixing up an old car: you really
have to love it, or get lucky and find a replacement
gathering dust that you can pick up for cheap.
Me, I love it.
Thanks for all the great advice.

: The primary winding does not have continuity and
: there are no output voltages on any of the secondary
: windings, so I figured the primary was open.
