Hello to everyone. I just replaced the cartidge in this 60's or 70's slot-load portable phonograph, made in Italy for Columbia Records. The new problem is that the motor runs slightly fast. Apparently there is no adjustment screw or any way that I can see to slow it down. It runs on 6 D battery power. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to slow it down?

On some of the DC run phonograph motors, there is a speed adjustment at the base of the motor. There is most times a sticker over the hole. Also check the idler wheel pinion for any rubber build up on it.
