Anyway have the back completely undone and loose however the knob for changing the alarm/clock time is bigger than the hole in the back! Don't know if it's a replacement.
The instructions for removing the back are printed on the bottom but don't mention this knob so perhaps it's a replacement.
Any ideas on how to get this sucker off? Short of cutting it off? Is the knob screwed on the shaft? Or pressed on?
Am I asking too many questions???
Thanks in advance.
There were clock knobs screwed on a shaft in back. With a needle nose pliers hold the shaft and see if the knob unscrews.

:Got a model C-446A and I'm trying to get the back off to re-cap and generally clean things up. This one has 4 push button keys to the left (under the clock movement) and a slide rule tuner to the right.

Thanks I'll give the pliers a try. I like the idea of applying some heat too.
