Howard SG-F -Tough time finding "matching" schematic
3/5/2001 6:06:09 PMjohn
Hello

I am restoring a Howard Radio and I am having a tough time finding the matching schematic for a Howard SG-F Cathedral Radio.

I found a number stamped on the chassis 0401. I am not sure if that number woild indicate a 401 chassis.

It has the following tubes:

24 times 3
27 times 1

47 times 2
80 times 1

Anybody know what the typical field coil resistance would be:

Thanks John

The Model F in Rider Vol #2 should be the right schematic. It should be here on nostalgiaair .The schematic will show 45's as output tubes but the radio was also made with 47, pentodes.

Norm,

Thanks! The Model F was very close to a match.
Is the component list and/or alignment instructions
avaialable for the F on Nostalgia?
If not, do you think the alignemnet and voltages
for tube complement previously mentioned would be
similiar to another unit with the same tube complement?

Thanks John

Following a recap and rewire "rotted wire"
I was able to get some very good "signs of life"
out the the Radio last night.

Except for output tubes the radios should be about the same. Most radios, regardless of brand, were just about the same around 1930. Check the Philco 20 on nostalgiaair. See if alignment is given for this radio?
